Reformer/Half Trapeze

What is now known as “the reformer” was originally named “The Universal Reformer.” The reformer is probably the most popular piece of Pilates equipment on the market today, and there are many smaller versions of it which might even use bungee cords instead of springs. When working on the reformer your core support is challenged through the movement of the carriage as you execute the exercises with varying relationships to gravity, and varying amounts of weight.

Here you see the Top Mechanics practicing their Short spine stretch with their feet in the straps.

"Cadillacs for everyone"
Always wanted a Cadillac in your garage? Well, our garage features the Balanced Body convertible Reformer/Half Trapeze (Cadillac). That means that the 3 reformers convert to become half "cadillacs" for use in small group equipment classes. Because most studios in the area do not offer this feature, you'll find that our small group equipment classes offer greater variety in the exercises and class progressions over time, which makes it more fun for everyone.

In this photo you can see Kerry performing a version of the "mini-reverse tower" on the "Half Trapeze" while Jacqueline performs a version of "arabesque" on the "Reformer."

The kneeling arm series includes contrasts in simultaneous movement and stabilization of the spine.
